Call for Nominations 2018

 Biennial Australian Studies in China Book Prize

The Australian Studies in China Book Prizes are awarded biennially at the conference of the Chinese Association for Australian Studies. Up tothreeprizes of AUD$2000 will be awarded for the best books published on Australian Studies topics in the two years since the last conference (that is, since June 2016). The three categories are as follows:

  • one prize for anoriginal workinChinese;

  • one prize for anoriginal workinEnglish;

  • one prize for atranslation(from English to Chinese).

The prizes are awarded to recognise and encourage the efforts of researchers, writers and translators working in the field of Australian Studies in China. They are restricted to Chinese citizens working in the Chinese university system or equivalent institutions in China. The judges may choose not to award a prize if no suitable books are submitted in a particular category.

The Selection Committee will consider original writings and translations on subjects relating to Australia, including Australian culture, arts, media, economy, politics, history, science, technology, law, education, and social sciences. Individual or joint authors, translators, editors, publishers and Australian Studies Centres can make nominations for this prize on behalf of the author(s) or translator(s).

A nomination form is attached. Nomination forms andtwo(2) copies of the book (in print or digital form) should be sent to the Foundation for Australian Studies in China (FASIC) by21 May 2018:
